Subject Timetables
Class Registration using the Student Timetable
The Student Timetable allows students to register in available classes. It is a students responsibility to ensure their registrations produce a clash-free timetable. If this is not possible and students have a clash, students are required to amend their timetables and/or subject selections to produce a clash-free alternative.
When does it open?
Class Registration can be accessed via the Student Portal. Any computer with Internet access can be used to do this; you do not have to be on campus.
*Class Registration for Semester 1 2012 will be open to students on Monday January 30th*Once you have viewed your timetable you can make changes to it by following the instructions given.
NOTE: you will only be able to change your allocated time if there are available alternatives.

How do I access the Student Timetable?
The Student Timetable can be accessed via the Student Portal, either via the large button on the Home tab, or by going to the Admin tab and clicking on "View my subject timetable and register in classes" under the Timetable heading.
How do I use the Student Timetable?
The Student Timetable enables you to register into classes that suit your needs. You can do this by selecting your preferred class times. If your preferred class time is full, you may be able to go on a waiting list for that particular time.
Please note that there may be times where there are no available classes for your selected subjects. This can happen shortly before the beginning of a Semester, and will usually be rectified by the time tutorials commence in Week 1 or 2.
What are Reserved Places?
Your department may have reserved a number of places in a class for a particular cohort of students. If you try to register in a class with reserved places and you meet the criteria, your registration will be complete. If you do not meet the criteria and there are no spaces available, you will recieve an error message advising you to select another class.
What is a Waiting List?
Some subjects within the Student Timetable will allow you to waitlist for a particular class if it is already full. If a spot in the class opens up, the person at the top of the waitlist will move into the spot in the class.
To get on a waitlist, follow the same process you would to register as normal. That is, click on the tickbox for the class you want to waitlist for and press save. You must not be registered in another class for the same activity.
If you are on a waitlist in the final week before semester starts, you will need to remove yourself from the waitlist and complete your registration in a class or your registration may be completed on your behalf by staff.
How do I access my timetable for subjects not available through the Student Timetable?
Timetable and venue information for all University lectures can be found via the University Timetable and you can view the list of lecture theatre locations.
What if I change my subjects after class allocation has opened?
All the subjects in which you are enrolled in will appear on your timetable from Monday January 30th (provided they are open for registration).
If you change your subjects after this date you will have to go back into the Student timetable and register into another available class If you wish to change your subjects, you may do so online (see Subject Selection).
When does Class Registration through the Student Timetable close?
Class Registration closes for editing at 5:00pm Friday March 9th..
If you make changes to your subjects after this date you will need to attend the Commerce Student Centre or otherwise telephone 13 MELB (13 63 52).
